I realised that I never got around to showing what makes up my home gym. This won’t be an overly descriptive post…here goes:
I guess the core of my home gym is the Marcy Diamond Elite Smith Machine.
This allows me to do the majority of my core exercises. I have to say that I am 100% satisfied with this machine. It is well made and well thought out.
My next piece is the Apex Roman Chair for hyper extensions.
I also have the Marcy Crunch Board.
Then we get to the Go-Fit Premium Stability Ball. This really is a must have for any home gym!
I also built a military style pull up bar outside of my front door. Currently my kids get more use out of it than I do…but I will get there soon enough! No picture of that at this time.
Then comes the 250lb tractor tire that I recently added to the home gym. This is a must have if for no other reason than all the looks that it generates from the neighbors as you flip it over on your grass or when you smash it with the 16 pound sledge hammer!
I also have a 100lb heavy bag.
And the speed bag.
And the head bag.
We used to have a tread mill but that wasn’t working out for space reasons and for banging the crap out of my knee reasons. So we traded up to a Cybex stationary bike.
I also added a set of hex dumbbells from 8lbs to 70lbs. More on their way.
And there is of course the stack of Weider Olympic Plates. I have 350lbs of that so far…but that collection grows constantly.
We also found that we needed a normal Olympic bar and an ez-curl bar to round out the weight lifting tools.
I think that that is about it at the moment. I will update this as my gym grows. Pictures to follow as well.
